RT Blog

Name:
Location: Indiana, United States

I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

BYU Listed Among "Worst Party Schools"

Of universities offering RT professional preparation programs, only BYU (Provo, Utah) is listed among the 10 worst party schools, in 7th place.

By the way, Grove City College (PA) was at the top of the list. Grove City, fortunately or unfortunately, doesn't offer RT.

457 Now on ATRAnet

I just submitted a post to ATRAnet. The message from OSU that I received to confirm my post indicted ATRAnet now has 457 people on it. I'm so pleased that more and more people are joining ATRAnet.

I pushed for somewhile for ATRA to get a listserv because I felt RTs needed a way to share information and ideas.

Special thanks to the RT faculty at Oklahoma State University for establishing ATRAnet for ATRA.
