NON-TENURE TRACK INSTRUCTIONAL FACULTY: Temple RT PROGRAM

DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION SCIENCES The Temple University College of Public Health (CPH), devoted to an innovative multidisciplinary educational and research environment that brings a transdisciplinary perspective of health, wellness, and social welfare, seeks outstanding educators and scholars to teach in our Therapeutic Recreation program beginning Fall Semester 2017. The Department. We welcome candidates who will bring strength in teaching to our nationally-acclaimed Therapeutic Recreation (TR) program enrolling approximately 250 undergraduate and graduate students. The program is in a unique interdisciplinary Department of Rehabilitation Sciences that includes nationally recognized academic programs in Therapeutic Recreation (B.S. and M.S.) and Occupational Therapy (M.O.T and D.O.T. degrees), as well as the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion of Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities (www.tucollaborative.org), an internationally recognized research and training center. Position and Qualifications. Duties will include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Therapeutic Recreation or Health Related Professions curricula. It may also include providing academic supervision for student internships, academic and career advising, scholarly activities with students, as well as college, professional and community service. Applicants should have an advanced degree in therapeutic recreation, disability studies, psychology, or other related disciplines. A PhD is preferred, but doctoral students nearing degree completion or persons with a Master’s degree and substantial practice experience will be considered. An active and current certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is required. Experience in college teaching is highly desirable as is supervision of graduate level research. The College. Appointment may be made at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor on the non-tenure instructional track dependent on qualifications.
