I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

Lecturer Position Open at La Crosse

Steve Lewis from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, has announced this opening: Position Description The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, Therapeutic Recreation position as a Lecturer in the Department of Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation, housed within the College of Science and Health. This position is a two-year, appointment. Applicants need expertise to (a) teach introductory and upper division therapeutic recreation core courses (undergraduate and graduate); and, (b) provide relevant professional and university service. Applicants need the ability to teach elective coursework in one or more TR settings and ability to provide university supervision of therapeutic recreation interns. The position begins August 25, 2014. Position is open until filled with a first review date of April 4, 2014.
