I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

Faculty Opening at Wisconsin LaCrosse

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track Therapeutic Recreation position as Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation. This position fills a vacancy left by a retiring faculty member. Applicants need expertise to (a) teach introductory and upper division therapeutic recreation core courses (undergraduate and graduate); (b) conduct scholarly activity such as research and grant writing activities, and advise undergraduate research and graduate projects and theses; and, (c) provide relevant professional and university service. Applicants need the ability to teach elective coursework in one or more TR settings and ability to provide university supervision of therapeutic recreation interns. The position begins August 25, 2014.
