Childhood Obesity Awareness Month
September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month, a time to encourage America's children to develop healthy habits to last a lifetime. Over the past 30 years, the childhood obesity rate in America has nearly tripled. According to the Centers for Disease Control, in 2010, approximately 17% of children and adolescents aged 2-19 years were already obese.
