Faculty Opening at La Crosse

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track Therapeutic Recreation position as Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation. Applicants need expertise to (a) teach introductory and upper division therapeutic recreation core courses (undergraduate and graduate); (b) conduct scholarly activity such as research and grant writing activities, and advise undergraduate research and graduate projects and theses; and, © provide relevant professional and university service. Applicants need the ability to teach elective coursework related to one or more TR roles/settings. Starting Date: August 28, 2017 The UWL Therapeutic Recreation program is an independent major, housed within the Department of Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation in the College of Science and Health. The Program serves more than 300 undergraduate and master-level TR students, is accredited by COAPRT, and is among the top ten colleges producing certified therapeutic recreation specialists with an exceptional passing rate on the national certification examination. Six collaborative and professionally involved faculty members deliver a curriculum with 13+ therapeutic recreation core and elective courses and a service-minded Therapeutic Recreation Club. Faculty have opportunities to mentor undergraduate and graduate grant-funded research projects and be involved with a wide range of community service activities.
