Faculty Position at WCU
From Jennifer L. Hinton: Western Carolina University announces a nine month, tenure-track assistant/ associate professor position in the Recreational Therapy program in the School of Health Sciences within the College of Health and Human Sciences effective January 1, 2016.
WCU was the first accredited university in the country to offer a BS degree specifically in recreational therapy and was the first accredited by CARTE. The Degree includes 42 hours in Liberal Studies and 70 hours in the major including recreational therapy courses in foundations, client assessment, processes and techniques, methods, behavioral health, physical disabilities, aging, administration, adventure-based therapy, and clinical internships. The RT program places a strong emphasis on service learning in the region.
