I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

Faculty Position Opening at Clemson

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at Clemson University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure track position at the assistant/associate professor level beginning in August, 2014. The successful candidate must have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the therapeutic recreation emphasis area along with core curriculum courses in the department’s innovative integrative core curriculum. The ability to teach courses on-line would also be an asset. In addition, the successful candidate will develop his or her own research agenda, seek external funding to support that agenda, supervise graduate student committees, and participate in service to the university and the profession. Review of applications will begin November 23, 2013 and will continue until the position is filled.
