I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

Spring RTI Newsletter Published

Recreation Therapists of Indiana (RTI) Newsletter Editor Patricia Whitener, CTRS, has announced that the Spring RTI Newsletter has been eletronically distributed.

In the Spring issue of the Newsletter, RTI President Marieke Van Puymbroeck, Ph.D., CTRS, announced the 2012 RTI Conference will be held November 1 and 2 at Bradford Woods.

The Newletter also contains an announcement by Jennifer Piatt, Ph.D., CTRS, of the formation of the RTI Licensure Task Force. In addition to Dr. Piatt, members are Julie Foster, Heather Sedletzeck, Abby Smith, Ryan Link. It was stated that those with interest in becoming involved with the Recreational Therapy Licensure Task Force should contract Julie Foster at ctrsjulie@embargmail.com
