Location: Indiana, United States

I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

NCTRC Exam Preparation Webinar

From Jean E. Folkerth, Re.D., CTRS, via the ATRAnet Listserv:

Greetings hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! For people who are preparing to take the NCTRC certification exam in January we have something else you can be thankful for....ATRA is pleased to provide you with a webinar on Preparing to Take the NCTRC Exam. It will be presented on Wednesday December 7 at 7:00 p.m. EST by Dr. Norma Stumbo.

Here is a description:
This session will address the specifics of the NCTRC exam and how best to prepare for taking it. It will cover details such as the number and kinds of items included, the computerized format and experience, and how best to prepare to increase your chances for success. Strategies and resources will be covered. The session will be repeated three times (December 7, 2011; April 11, 2012; September 12, 2011). This session will not cover information about the sitting requirements and other standards of NCTRC (See Certification 101 webinar for those details).

It will be offered at the low rate of $25 per person or college/university just like last year's Certification 101 which will be offered again in February. Please go to the ATRA website to sign up. If the time is not convenient for you, you can get it on replay for the 2 weeks following the original presentation. However, you must be signed up for the webinar!

Hope to see you on the webinar!
