I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

Record Number Now on ATRAnet

I just posted about a research study on exercise curbing depression of patients with arthritis and other rheumatic conditions on ATRA's listserv -- and found there are now 582 on ATRAnet. This has got to be a record number. Special thanks to Oklahoma State University who supports ATRAnet! By the way, the research article was by G.A. Kelley and appeared in Arthritis Res Ther 2015, 17-21. The title: "effects of exercise on depression in adults with arthritis: a systematic review with meta-analysis of randomized controlled trails."
