I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

Position Opening at East Stroudsburg University

The Department of Recreation Services Management at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking your assistance in locating potential applicants for a faculty position opening. The position is full-time, temporary for one semester, Spring 2015. The department hopes to convert this to a continuing, tenure-track position for Fall 2015. We are seeking a CTRS-certified specialist in Therapeutic Recreation who is also able to teach a Research Methods course for our undergraduate majors. Minimum qualifications to apply are a Masters degree in Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation and current CTRS certification, with professional and teaching experience preferred. Courses to be taught for Spring 2015 are: 1) Recreation Services for Persons with Disabilities, 2) Concepts and Issues in Therapeutic Recreation, and 3) Research Methods. The faculty member will also supervise students in Therapeutic Practicum and TR Internship.
