I became a Professor Emeritus after serving 29 years as a recreational therapy faculty member at Indiana University. I'm a long-time Hoosier, having grown up in Hanover, Indiana. My RT practitioner work was in psych/mental health. After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, my first faculty position was at the University of North Texas. RT has been a wonderful profession for me as I have had the opportunity to serve as an author and national leader.

Faculty Opening at Southern Miss

The University of Southern Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Recreation in the School of Human Performance and Recreation in the College of Health. Minimum Qualifications: 1.) Earned doctorate (degree awarded by August 2015) in therapeutic recreation or closely related field and certification (or eligibility for certification) as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) (Note: Active NCTRC certification is a condition of employment.) 2.) Demonstrated line of scholarly activity evidenced by submission of peer-reviewed publications, professional presentations and/or grant submissions 3.)
